Nathalie Jeghers, CSP
Director of Sales and Marketing, Chip Hospitality
“They never had anything when I was in university specific to sales. Certification is the perfect compliment for my educational background”
A Rising Star in Hospitality
It’s been a steady climb up the ranks of the hospitality industry for Nathalie Jeghers, CSP. Starting out 12 years ago as a junior sales representative with a major hotel chain, Jeghers has spent the last five years as the director of sales and marketing for Hilton Montreal Aeroport. Recently, this rising star was promoted to regional director of sales and marketing with Chip Hospitality. She now oversees 11 hotels throughout Quebec and the Atlantic regions.
Jeghers largely credits her consistent promotion of the CSP designation for her rise through the hospitality ranks. “I promote my designation in everything that goes out with my name on it—whether it’s with the media, clients or within my company. It’s become my trademark.” She even brings a copy of her certificate and CPSA’s code of ethics into job interviews.
A CSP since 2002, Jeghers is still amazed at how many clients and employers are curious about certification. And she always takes advantage of people’s curiosity to explain the rigorous standards set by CPSA as well as the code of ethics to establish her credibility.
With a degree in marketing, Jeghers says certification filled a void in her credentials. “They never had anything when I was in university specific to sales,” she says. “Certification is the perfect compliment for my educational background.”
