With Google+ reaching over 100 million users and Pinterest being the 3rd most popular social network in 2012, you may want to seriously consider incorporating one or both of these into your marketing plan. But how do you know if it’ll be worth your efforts?

Before you take on a new social network, consider the following:

- Have you developed your other social networks enough such that you can devote more time to exploring a new one?
- What are your main social media marketing goals and do the features of this new social network fall in line with the goals you have in mind?
- Is your target audience/demographic likely to join this new network?
