Established in 1874, CPSA is one of Canada’s oldest associations. Today it defines its purpose as one of enriching the lives of the over 1.2M sales professionals from coast-to-coast-to-coast. Supporting this diverse national membership, the Association focuses on these four areas: 

1. Training sales professionals 

2. Certifying sales professionals 

3. Providing members with the tools & resources to sell more & sell smarter 

4. Offering a cost savings benefit program

The CPSA is currently seeking two new board members for the term beginning May 2022. Of particular interest are individuals with expertise in the following areas:  Human Resources, Finance, Digital Transformation, and those with significant experience in building/growing membership-based organizations and/or loyalty programs. 

As a Board Member, you will be willing to serve for a minimum of one two-year term and a maximum of three, two-year terms with the ability to participate and contribute as member and/or chair of our committees. You will have the ability and time to take on broad multi-committee responsibilities. 


As a minimum qualification, you bring integrity, ethics and respect for privacy and confidentiality.  You have strong verbal and written communication skills and work effectively to collaborate with a team to achieve our shared objective.  You possess strong business acumen and can recognize and assess business risks and strategic opportunities.  You can draw on paid or volunteer expertise from committees, boards, or Associations.  

Director commitment & remuneration
Board members participate in approximately 10 meetings a year comprised of 4-5 board meetings and 4-5 committee meetings. While board meetings are normally attended in person, during the pandemic they will be virtual meetings. Committee meetings are normally held virtually. All reasonable board meeting expenses are covered including travel to and from ‘in person’ board meetings. Currently directors receive a stipend of $1,500 per board meeting and $500 per committee meeting attended.
