How do I perform a background reference check on a prospective supplier or partner outside of Canada?

To avoid unpleasant surprises down the road, it is important to perform due diligence on prospective vendors and suppliers.

A background screen should include a search of past addresses, civil and bankruptcy records, credit reports, criminal records, driving records, education and employment histories, liens and judgment histories, media coverage, professional licenses and certifications.

In order to perform this type of search, you need to secure the vendors′ or individual′s permission to perform this type of check.
